1. Research collaborations and partnerships with industry

We are here to help you prepare and negotiate contracts. We will also obtain the approval of the Vice President for joint research projects and open an ETH-internal fund to handle the project financially.

2. Inventions, patents and computer programs from the ETH community

If you are a researcher at ETH Zurich and you have made an invention, we can answer your questions relating to industrial property rights. In particular, we will discuss with you how inventions or computer programs can be protected and will file a patent for you when required.

3. Licenses

We help researchers find a licensee and handle the negotiations for license or option agreements concerning inventions,
know-how or computer programs.

4. Spin-off companies

We support you in setting up your own company on the basis of ideas or technologies that you have developed at ETH Zurich. We advise you on the first steps in founding a company and can help you to rent equipment and premises at ETH Zurich for the start-up period. We also offer you the opportunity of meeting other founders, sponsors and advisors (e.g. Founder’s Day) at regular events.

5. Setting up contacts

If you wish to run a research project jointly with ETH Zurich or have an open question in your own research work, we can set up contacts for you with ETH research teams. The research database of ETH Zurich gives you an overview on running research projects.
